JBL Unveil Two Affordable Surround Sound Systems

JBL Cinema 510 and Cinema 610JBL has announced the release of two new 5.1 surround sound systems, the Cinema 510 and Cinema 610. Both systems are compact in size, don’t take up too much floor space and are designed for simple plug-and-play use, making it ideal for the tech un-savvy.

The Cinema 610 features five voice-matching satellites including a dedicated horizontal center channel with dual 3-inch woofers and 0.5-inch tweeters. With the assistance of 8-inch 60watt subwoofer, its frequency response has been rated between 38Hz–20kHz. Suggested list price for the US market (where it is currently now available) is $399.95.

Like the 610, the Cinema 510 also has five voice-matching satellites but doesn’t include a dedicated horizontal channel. The speakers feature 3-inch drivers and come paired with a 6.5-inch 60watt subwoofer. Frequency response has been measured at 46Hz–20kHz. The 510 is out towards the end of October and is $100 less that the 610.
